Slimming World: Week 10

slimming world update week 10 weight loss journey

After a tough week 9 on Slimming World which involved absolutely no attempts to resist pizza temptation whatsoever (resulting in a 1lb gain), I was determined to make week 10 fully on plan and remember the reasons why I started. I don’t have any holiday’s booked this year, so I’m not under pressure to lose X amount by X day. I’m a bridesmaid for my friend, so whilst that’s my short term goal, my long term goal is to be able to go into a shop and pick up things I like rather than things I think will ‘flatter me’. I don’t want to feel like I can’t buy the clothes I like because of weight. I love culottes, I’m still not sure if they’d suit me because of how short I am, but up until now I’ve never tried a pair because I feel too ‘big’ to. Same with vest tops that show my arms, anything cropped, and you can forget about body suits.

So you probably want to know how the past week on Slimming World went? We were dog sitting for my boyfriend’s parents over the bank holiday, but luckily they did us a food shop rather than leaving takeaway money like they usually do. Here’s my week 10…

  • 40g Weetabix Minis with 100ml milk and a Tassimo L’or coffee (4 syns coffee, HEX B, 1/2 HEX A)
  • Late breakfast so wasn’t hungry
  • Spaghetti Bolognese made from scratch with onion, pepper, chopped tomatoes, pasatta, beef stock, 5% fat mince, and 20g grated mozzarella cheese (1/2 HEX A)

  • Snacks: 4 pieces of Sainsbury’s basic chocolate (6 syns)
  • 14.5 syns total

This week I made fajitas from scratch. In the past I always used a sauce, but actually making it myself was really tasty. I used the Schwartz fajita seasoning which is free and lovely. I also had the fajitas with chips, whereas in the past I used to just have fajitas and end up eating 2-3 t0rtilla wraps stuffed with cheese! Other than that, this week I stuck to the things I know, mainly because I was cooking in someone else’s house so it made things easier.

I really loved the little snack box of Waitrose chicken satay I picked up on the go as a snack on the bank holiday Monday. At 5.5 syns it isn’t the best option, but it was very tasty and handy if you’re in a pinch. I haven’t had any this week, but I also really like the fridge raiders snack packs, they’re only 3.5 syns for the 60g bag and perfect when you’re out and about and getting hungry.

The Results

So… the results. I lost 1.8lb which I’m thrilled with! I had 2 cheat meals out, plus the high syn Viennese Whirl biscuit so I was expecting to not have lost much. It puts my total loss at 9.4 lb, so I’m hoping I can hit my stone in the next couple of weeks!

This week I really didn’t get enough speed in. A lot of my meals didn’t involve any speed, and it’s a habit I’ve been slipping into so I’m going to have to keep an eye on it and make sure I get enough fruit and veg in.

Are you doing Slimming World? How did you get on this week?
