Slimming World: Week 7

Week 7, how you doing?! I’m not going to lie, this week has been a tough one. There’s been a few times I’ve been tempted to go off-plan, like on Tuesday when I felt very bored and self-sabotag-y (definitely not a word!) and all I wanted to do was order a pizza, or on Thursday lunch time when I realised my meal plan said ‘last night’s Satay’ but I’d ended up not making Satay the night before, and all I could think about was the chippy round the corner.

I resisted and stuck to plan, which is something I’m actually really surprised but also proud of myself for. It’s been testing at times, but a very positive week. So here’s how I got on!

(Fyi, I do my meal plans friday-friday because that’s when I weigh in/order my food shop!)

Eating

Friday
  • Pinch of Nom hash brown breakfast pizza (HEX A)
  • Jacket potato with fajita chicken, made up my own recipe using spices, chopped tomatoes, onion, pepper and salsa. (1.5 syn for salsa)
  • Double cheese burger – mixed mince with chopped onion, shaped into patties and fried with fry light. (HEX B, 6 Syns for cheese)
  • Snacks: Tassimo Costa cappuccino (2 syns), 5 mikado sticks (2.5 syns), Muller Light yoghurt (Free).
  • 12 syns total

 

Saturday
  • Bacon & egg butty with Flora light & BBQ sauce (2 syns for butter and BBQ sauce, plus HEX B)
  • Nandos for lunch as I was bridesmaid dress shopping, I had a Chicken Pitta and chips but decided to just write it off as a cheat meal and get straight back on plan (33 syns)
  • Too full to eat tea
  • Snacks: None
  • 35 syns total

 

Sunday
  • Omelette with cheese, ham and onion. Added a splash of milk to mixture. (HEX A, 1 syn for milk)
  • Had a late breakfast so didn’t eat lunch
  • Chicken fajita made with Weight Watchers wrap, chicken, salsa, chopped tomatoes, pepper, onion, and fajita spice mix (HEX B, 1 syn for salsa, 6 syns for cheese)
  • Snacks: Tassimo Suchard hot chocolate (3 syns), 8 mikado sticks (4 syns)
  • 15 syns total

 

Monday
  • 20g Monster Puffs, 125ml Semi-Skimmed milk (1/2 HEX A, 1/2 HEX B)
  • Slimming World Leek & Potato Soup
  • Homemade bolognese made with low fat mince, passata, chopped tomatoes, onion, pepper, celery, beef stock and 20g cheese (1/2 HEX A)
  • Snacks: Pinch of Nom syn free waffles with 1 tbsp nutella and strawberries shared with boyfriend (4 syns for toppings, 1/2 HEX B for oats), Tassimo Oreo hot chocolate (5 syns), Muller Light greek style lemon yoghurt (Free)
  • 9 syns total

 

Tuesday
  • 40g Weetabix Minis Chocolate chip, 125ml Semi-Skimmed milk (1/2 HEX A, HEX B)
  • Stir Fry made with chicken, stir fry veg, ground ginger and soy sauce
  • Chicken Pizza made with onion, pepper, 1 tbsp BBQ sauce & 20g cheese, asparagus and own brand savoury rice (1/2 HEX A, 1 syn)
  • Snacks: Tassimo Suchard hot chocolate (3 syns), Easter egg weighed out weeks ago (9 syns), 4 mikado sticks (2 syns)

Wednesday
  • 20g Monster Puffs, 125ml Semi-Skimmed milk (1/2 HEX A, 3 Syns cereal)
  • Slimming World Leek & Potato Soup
  • Chicken pasta made with onion, pepper, passata, chopped tomatoes, chicken & 20g cheese (1/2 HEX A)
  • Snacks: Pinch of Nom syn free waffles with 2 tsp choc shot, 12.5g light spray cream (2.5 syns for toppings, HEX B for oats), Babybel (3 syns), Biscoff biscuits (3 syns), Tassimo Suchard hot chocolate (3 syns), Muller Light Greek Style lemon yoghurt (Free)

Thursday
  • Low fat natural yoghurt and strawberries, Carton of Alpro Chocolate milk drink (HEX A plus 1.5 syns for extra milk)
  • 3 bacon rashers fat cut off, scrambled eggs with BBQ sauce, grapes afterwards (0.5 syns)
  • Steak with fat removed, Slimming World chips with seasoning on top, asparagus, and syn free creamy peppercorn sauce
  • Snacks: Toastie with 2 slices Warburtons 400g wholemeal loaf, 2 slices Dairylea light cheese and flora light on outside of bread (HEX B, 5 syns for cheese, 1 syn butter), 7 Mini Eggs (7 syns)

Trying

This week I picked up some of the Alpro chocolate milk drink cartons after being recommended them in my Whatsapp group chat, which are lovely and can be drank hot or cold. I’ve also been loving the Muller Light Greek lemon yoghurts which are free and perfect as something sweet after tea when I’ve already used up my syns for the day. I also tried using choc shot as a lower syn topping on the Pinch of Nom waffles but as I mentioned in my Low Syn Snacks post, I’m not a big fan of it as a topping and much prefer it in hot chocolates.

Loving

I absolutely loved making the chicken pizza, I’ve seen so many people raving about it but hadn’t got round to trying it until this week. I didn’t follow a recipe, I just winged it using onion and peppers with BBQ sauce and cheese – it was delicious! I’ve already added it to next week’s meal plan. I’m also loving the Twining’s Cherry Bakewell and Fudge Melts green teas, they take a little bit of getting used to but I’m obsessed with them now, they’re a lovely alternative to plain water and a better hot option than regular tea, apparently they help to speed metabolism too so here’s hoping!

The Results

So… the results. Last week I gained 0.8lb but I’m pleased to say this week I’ve lost that 0.8lb and a bit more, with a total loss of 1.6lb. I’m an annoying 0.2lb off my half stone, but I don’t tend to lose very quickly anyway and of course I did have that Nando’s cheat meal which probably didn’t help. I’m really happy I’m back on track though, and I’ve also been drinking TONS of green tea this week which I think might have helped.
