I’m sure most of you can relate to the dreaded 7am weekday alarm, followed by a few goes on the snooze button… then suddenly it’s 8am and you have 15 minutes to get ready. Yep.
I’ve become quite the pro at throwing on a few makeup products quickly, because let’s be honest it’s 2016 and who leaves the house without brows anymore???
So here’s my 5 product weekday face, for all those times you needed to be out of the door 20 minutes ago. (So everyday for me, oops.)
Soap & Glory Hocus Focus Illuminator – (link)
I actually wrote about this product last week (The Makeup Product Everyone Has Complimented), and in that post I mentioned I’ve been mixing Hocus Focus with my foundation every day to create a really natural ‘glow from within’ look to my skin. Because I mix it with my foundation, it’s not like applying a second product so it takes literally a few seconds to use but makes such a huge impact to my complexion.
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation – (link)
I must mention this foundation at least once a fortnight on this blog, but it’s always been a firm favourite of mine. (I wrote about my ‘forever repurchases’ from the drugstore a while back). It has a dewy finish that gives the skin a healthy glow without looking shiny, and it lasts the workday without me having to worry about it disappearing. It’s super easy to blend, so I usually skip the brushes and go straight in with my hands – perfect for the morning rush.
NYX Translucent HD Finishing Powder – (link)
This powder has so many rave reviews online and I’m not surprised why. I use this every morning to set my makeup, it takes just a second to brush on and it leaves such a flawless, airbrushed finish to the skin while setting makeup in place and preventing any shine.
Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara – (link)
Although I love my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, and the NYX Tame and Frame dupe, most mornings I don’t have time to sit create a defined brow. The Maybelline Brow Drama is a product I can quickly brush on, giving my brows a fuller look and taking seconds.
Side note: the new Benefit brow range is now out, so I’m excited to get my hands on the new Gimme Brow and hopefully substitute it for this Maybelline product.
Soap & Glory Thick and Fast HD Collagen Coat Mascara – (link)
After receiving this mascara in the big Soap & Glory The Whole Shebang Christmas Hamper (review here), I fell in love with how long it makes my lashes. It also doesn’t smudge under my eyes like a lot of mascaras have the tendency to do. Plus because it’s not waterproof it’s really easy to remove at night.
And that’s it, my weekday 5 product face. If I have some extra time on my hands, this is my basic face. Then I’ll add a coat of tinted lip balm (the Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm’s are my favourite) and some of theBalm’s Mary Lou Manizer highlighter.
